Weigh In~~

Yeah, Christmas is DONE! I hate to sound like the grinch, but I just needed to get through this year!! I am sooooo looking forward to 2012! Well anyway, I just got back from TN/GA visiting children/grandchildren, and made a stop @ Jerry's Artarama in Nashville. While there, I picked up a few of the Twin Touch markers, because I am looking for a less expensive alternative to copics.....(besides my beloved pencils) I couldn't really match up colors because I had an antsy three yr old with me (what was I THINKING?) However, I did pick up their blue/grays (coloring on the scales) and I must say, they blend really nice! I started out w/Prisma markers, and still use them for detail work, so some might  miss the brush tip, but I actually like a finer point.  I plan on going back in January (when I spend a week w/the antsy three yr old, LOL!) and getting quite a few more, they are $1.89 apiece, and I was quite pleased........So, four of us "girls" meet on Wed morning to weigh in and encourage one another, & I made this card for my BFF Judy. (She's lost 18 lbs so far, you go girl!) I am entering this into the following challenges:

Happy B'day Billy

EEEK, a week before Christmas, where the heck did this year GO???? I was not going to post again, but made this b'day card for my son-in-law (no, I am not a monster-in-law!) and thought it would be a good opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.......I try to get to everyone who has commented on my posts, so if I missed someone over this past year, my bad! I appreciate every single person that visits with wonderful positive messages. I think we tend to be hyper-critical of our own work, so when someone actually affirms what you have done, oh it is sooooooo nice! So thank you one and all. This will be my last regular post, my "season" starts on January 10th with Sis visiting for four months, plus a few stragglers. I have the FL address, so they're all welcome! I have to admit it's getting lonely here, so I'm looking forward to the company! I will also be traveling to TN and GA for the holidays, Lord grant me patience w/four grandchildren, hahahaha! I hope you all have the merriest of holidays, and my 2012 be the best!

Good evening everyone~~first off, I must apologize, I took at least ten pictures of this card, and this was the best one, EEEEK! Sorry, it really does not do the image justice! This is a Sugar Nellie digi image I downloaded from Funky Kits, colored w/copics. They are so adorable, I cannot stand it! I am sure you will see them again (& maybe again!)
Well, after two pounds of fudge, too many cookies to count, and numerous other "bad" foods, I lost 1/4 of a pound........so not great, but I didn't gain either! I had three Christmas parties this week, please take me away! I am going to enter this into the following challenges:

Happy Monday everyone~~short post. I hope everyone had a great weekend, I went to see "Happy Feet 2"........OMGosh, how cute was that movie! I actually loved it more than the first. Well, a happy weekend to everyone! Brrr is not for me, the weather today is absolutly gorgeous! I'm just finishing up some stragglers (cards to people I FORGOT!) This one is a Nellie Snellen image I bought from HERE...cute as can be, but deceiving! Whew there were a lot of parts to this! She is done w/Prisma's mostly, although some of it was based in copics. The bow is way too big, but I hate making bows, so that was that. My other picture is "the kids." They were not so energetic the other night, and curled up with each other. I thought is was so cute, I just had to take a picture. The one with his foot up is Charlie (Charles in charge) and the patient female is Cassie. (actually not patient at all, sometimes she can be pretty feisty!) Hi everyone! Are ya all done with Christmas shopping from Black Friday and Cyber Monday??? Well, I did actually put a HUGE dent in mine yesterday, I braved the malls (everyone was home on their laptop!) I take these days VERY seriously! Why?? I worked for the PO for many years, and could never enjoy the fabby sales that went on, so now I'm right THERE, hahaha! BTW, if you still have some money, can I mention a few enabling sites?? LOTV is having a 10% plus FREE shipping until tomorrow, GB time. Oozak held their sale over for another day, and Sassy Cheryl's had a wonderful sale on her digi's. I'm a sucker for free shipping, Oozak has the BEST customer service on the planet, & Cheryl's images need to come w/a cuteness alert!---Sooo, moving right along, this digi is from Just Inklined, and done w/copics. One of the other sales yesterday was 7KidsCollegeFund, (10%) and a pre-order opportunity for new alcohol markers from Crafter's Companion. I bit the bullet and ordered the skin tones. I love my copics, but they are getting a bit out of reach for me in price (read: single, retired, old lady on SS) I'll let you know how I like them! I have a few Promarkers, and they're pretty good. OK, so enough chatting~~I'm in the house today (sick) so the upside  is coloring all day w/o guilt. I might actually get TWO posts in this week! I'm going for the following challenges:

OK, few random thoughts: I spent many, many winters in NH w/the kiddo's, and I really don't think moose are two-toned! However, they're not the color I originally had, so fixed a boo-boo! Second, is there ANYONE out there besides me who gets annoyed because my programs do not DVR when football is on???? AARRGGHH! I've missed so many "The Good Wife" episodes! Have a good afternoon! I guess it's a good day, if that's the only complaint I have!

Hi everyone! Well Happy (belated) Thanksgiving, and I hope y'all had a wonderful holiday w/lots of FOOD! I was in GA, came home last night @ 12:00 midnight, and stayed up until 4:00 AM--then back up @ 7:00, what's up with that?? I have been trolling every website on the planet for a Leap Pad Explorer (I'm beginning to think they do not exist) for my granddaughter, and so far have been unsuccessful. In the meantime, I think my grandchildren gave me some kind of flu-ish thing, because my throat is sore, I'm achy~~OK, enough whining~~I'm ultimately leading into this image, which I loved, but couldn't seem to get it all together with a sketch. I just gave up finally, and tada, here it is\, sans sketch.  This is a downloaded digi from Cuddly Buddly (I am positive it is Pachela Studio)~~Oh my, they have the cutest digi stamps! This is my last Thanksgiving card, moving on to the next holiday. Three times in one week, are you amazed? I am.......good thing I don't have 597 followers, they would be tired of me by now. So for other 1%, here I am! It is finally cooling off,  which means I am too. Trying to tie up loose ends prior to travelling. Went to a comedy club last night, and the two guys were pretty funny! I've never been to one before, I guess there is a first time for everything! So things I am thankful for this week:
1) I haven't tripped and fallen (see Milton the Moose post)
2) I have not lost my debit card (see #1)
3) I'm not cooking
4) I have beautiful children and grandchilden (they cook)
5) I live in a wonderful country, I'm healthy, able to sit up and take nourishment........life can be good sometimes..........

Whew, my days got a LOT better after that last post~~I haven't fallen, and I have not lost the NEW debit card, things are looking up~~So I am inside today, because it is so freakin' hot here!!!!!!! I'm waiting for the humidity to stop, but SW is in the middle of a heat wave..........AARRGGHH! Milton the Moose~~

Hmmmm, I THINK it's Milton! This is one of my last Thanksgiving cards, had thirteen of them this year. Now on to Christmas, EEEEK. So..........not a good day here. Up @ 5:30, hop out of bed ready for the gym, but first I need to feed the "kids." Well, it's dark out @ 5:30, so when I pounded into the living room, I promptly fell over my bag of copics that I had left on the floor the previous evening. BANG, right on my shoulder, and that should have been a clue TO GO BACK TO BED! But noooooo.....off to the gym, then to the bank to make a withdrawal, and lo and behold, my debit card is missing. AARRGGHH. So I went back home, checked the balance, and sure enough, I used it on Sunday to download some MP3's. I spent HOURS tearing this house apart (not that it's that big, Frodo would have a hard time living here) no debit card. AARRGGHH! Get the mail~~letter from a lawyer, about a house I have not owned in FIVE years, and a husband I have not been married to for SIX years. And then I find out that my fave show "Revenge" is not on tonight! Now I am all achy and thinking that the gym is out for tomorrow..........OK, enough whining. I hate to end this on a sad note, but if you follow a lot of blogs you might be familiar with Katie Renz, who has been bravely battling stomach cancer. Sadly, she died a few days ago, so please say a prayer for her young children and husband. I lost a husband many years ago during the holidays, when my children were very young, and so my heart aches for this family. They will need every prayer they can get..................CJ

How is everyone on this bee-u-tiful Toooos-day?????? Well, guess what?? I lost 2 pounds this week, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!  I am @ the gym everyday, and sometimes it gets discouraging I must admit, but I am committed to this~~I need to lose 15 pounds, so now it's only 13! Anyway, my card today is not a fancy fold, I had waaaaay too much on my plate this afternoon, but hopefully within the next two days, I will have another one for you. Beautiful Fall~`

Oh, it is such a gorgeous day here!!!!! No humidity, no heat, and all is right with the world (sort of) Anyway, hope you enjoyed your week, and have some great plans for the weekend! I do a Zumba class on Saturdays, it is soooooo fun! Also have dinner plans for Sunday, so thought I would post today! Christmas???????????

Just popping in today w/a Christmas card..........I know, I know, sorry! If you're anything like me, you have a loooong list and short wallet! Every year I tell myself I'm going to save for the NEXT year, but here I am again, still short on cash, still trying to lose weight, still single (OK, I digressed!) So anyway, this is a LOTV stamp, one of my fave, fave companies. I try to enter their challenges when I can (OK, add loser to the above list!) It's done w/copics & Prisma pencils, and I added some MS glitter & clear glaze. Well...........not really! It's still hot here, but not as bad as last week! It's "use it or lose it" time at my house, which means I need to utilize these scraps of paper I've been collecting forever! There are a lot of neutrals, which is good because I will be starting on Thanksgiving cards shortly. I'm such a hoarder with paper! So my little kitty is an image by Penny Black, colored in copics. Pretend the flowers are mums, OK? I used flowersoft for the centers, and clear glaze for the pot (complete w/my thumbprint!) Ribbon, charm, copper butterfly and we are set to go! Fraidy Cat!

I really, really mean to post at least once a week, and then the time just flies by! I'm in the Halloween mode and this is my eighth card, so there's no excuses why they are not on here! I just got back from Atlanta GA, visiting the grandchildren (17, 16, 9 & 3) We spent the day @ the pumpkin patch Saturday, riding ponies, getting lost in the maize (a-maizing), and finishing up with a hayride. The weather there is phenomenal, no humidity. Fall is my favorite season, so I don't know how the heck I landed here in Fl near the equator! UGH, it is still in the 80's and 90's here~~stick a fork in me, I am DONE! Anyway, this image (such a cutie!) is from Serendipity Stamps. It is a glorious Monday here in FL! Windows are open, no humidity and all is right with the world (for the moment!) I am backk from a wonderful visit with my sister in MA~~not much foliage I'm afraid, so will have to plan a trip later in the fall next year. We had a good time though, and she is coming down for three months in January~~the perfect situation, winters in FL, spring,summer and fall in NE. Gosh, the luck of some people, LOL! I admit I am always looking for something different~~found it!!!!! This image is from DigiDarla's, a pay by the month site. Once I went there, I KNEW I had to have him!!!!!! I wrote her and she sent me this sample for free, full disclosure here! This is my interpretation, and instead of  gray, I used the BV's (29,25 &20) Of course, I used SB, stickles and clear glaze, for his beak and flippers. I just think he is the cutest!!!!!!!! I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Good morning everyone! Admittedly, I am just now ready to do something besides bawling my eyes out from 9/11. Our pastor did an ENTIRE sermon on the conversation between Todd Beamer and the phone operator~~oh mi gosh, I could not stop crying! These poor people, I pray for them all~~Such a tragedy, and we shall never forget it~~
Soooo, this card was one of the most detailed I had ever done, & worthy of a post!!!!! It's a Sugar Nellie and she is too, too cute! September already???

OMG, I cannot believe it is Sept. already, where does the time go??? I have been dog/house sitting and they had no INTERNET! AARRGGHH! You do not realize how "connected" you are until you're "disconnected!" Anyway, back home and one bright spot, I did color some images. After reading and coloring however, I think I might buy some Visine stock!
So, a lovely Magnolia image, and she's colored in copics. This card seemed to take forever, there's a lot going on here~~embossing, glitter, pop-ups (her hat) I'm not sure the camera caught it all. I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! Have fun!

Summer~~

Is there such a thing as summer blah's??? I think I have them. Either that, or I am still exhausted from grandchildren! I did this easel card to fit as many challenges as I could, how lazy is that? One bright spot, I got to use my new Cheery Lynn die, but are they ever intricate! For movie buffs out there, I saw "The Help" and I have one word, OUTSTANDING! Definitely Oscar worthy performances. Ahhh, Wednesday, middle of the week! When I was a working "girrrrrl" I used to love it, because I only had two more days, and then.....the weekend! Now that I'm retired, every day is a Friday! Hmmm, enough of that~~This is my "LOTV" entry for their challenge (roses). Who made up that silly rule of pink/red clashing? I love them together actually! It's colored in copics on Cryogen, and the DP was from my stash, which is growing soooo big! I used flowers from Michael's, and stickles plus embossing w/cuttlebug folder to finish it off.

Vacation's over!

Well, I'm back! I am going to say I was on vacation, but I've been w/four grandchildren ages 17-3, so some might question my sanity calling it that! I loved every moment of it! I did not color though, and boy I am ready to get back into the swing of things! Today I am using a stamp by Impression/Obsession. (#H1741) It's pretty detailed, but no matter how many pictures I took, it did not do it justice. I colored it w/copics, some stickles and a Sizzix die cut. The fold is from SCS, called "recessed window." When I finally stopped being a dunce and actually got the measurements right it was fairly easy. I took it a step further and made it into a tent card....just a suggestion. The tag is from HOTP~~Hope you're having a great weekend, I am ready to start another for LOTV challenge, gotta catch up!

Jasper & free Cricut!

Well hello there friends! I have teenagers for the entire month of July, and then head to Nashville so posts might be few and far between! Let me introduce you to Jasper~~Isn't he just the cutest! What do you suppose he's saying to that butterfly? Is it "Well hello there!" or would it be "Hey pal, my nose is not a landing strip, LOL!"  When I ordered him, I pictured golden, so I hope I did him justice. Jasper is from Impression/Obsession (F7528)
He is colored w/copics, some glitter, clear glaze and he is ready! I realized while coloring that there is absolutely, positively NO OTHER PAPER for me than Cryogen white. I've tried, it's useless!

Hi everyone~~me again! One of the challenges this week was a "Thank You' card, and I immediately ran to the fall "pile" to make one for Thanksgiving! You can never be too early with these things, heehee! So, I went to the Dr's on Monday, had my physical where the doc said my EKG was just a "little" abnormal. OK, I was not too concerned. Then the vampire came in to draw blood~~I, like 99.9% of the population hate needles, but I grin and bear it for  6 seconds. For whatever reason, when she inserted it, I jumped, she jumped, and fwiiiiiinnnnggg the needle jumped, out of the syringe. So after wads of cotton balls to stem the gusher, plus wails of "OMG, I am so sorry!" we started on the other arm~and halfway to herself she muttered, "guess I'll use the baby needle this time." HUH???? They come in sizes?? (I once said this to a MAN) WTH, did she use the super deluxe equine model the 1st time? At any rate, my day quickly morphed from, "deedeedada, I can't wait to get home & have my vitamuffin w/fresh fruit" to ....."GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE so I can have an egg McMuffin with a side of fried pork rinds and a cup of cream with coffee on the side!" Oh, and that "no big deal" EKG??? I have to go for a nuclear stress test, next week~~~to be continued!

Isn't this image just darh---ling?? She is from Kraftin Kimmie, and colored w/copics. I added clear glaze to her boots, stickles to the trim and fluff to the edges of the water, but it does not seem to show up well~~Anyway, this is what my Sunday was all about--coloring! I think I am all done with red, white and blue, but I may have one more! Hope you all (or y'all in TN) had a wonderful weekend! I have to be @ the Dr's for a blood test @ 7:30 AM tomorrow, and you know what that means? FASTING! Oh man, I am going to be mean by the time I get out of there, I need my tea first thing!!!!
